Welcome!
This is your step by step guide to help you have a successful Rock N Roll Bingo night. This is the format we have been using at severa; locations for years and it has been very successful. This is simply a guideline, feel free to improvise and make adjustments to suit your hosting style. If you need help, call Russ (250) 202-9244
Let's Play:
We play our games between 6-8 p.m. Here is the schedule we follow.
5:50 p.m.
Host Says:
"Welcome to Rock N Roll Bingo.
For the next two hours we're going to play music bingo games that will feature the greatest hits of all time.
The games are free to play and we have some nice prizes to give away.
For those who haven't played before, it's easy. We'll be handing out bingo cards with song names on the card, when you hear a song that is on your card, mark it off, when you get a bingo, holler loud and we'll pause the game.
The only rule we have is that you can only win once per card.
If you're having trouble figuring out a song, ask a friend or you can ask the host. If you have an app on your smartphone, feel free to use it, we encourage it! This isn't music trivia, this is Rock N Roll Bingo!"
Host hands out cards and pens:
Note: Don’t ask guests if they want to play, give them a card and they can make that choice. You will notice that some people who were at first reluctant to play, will play if a card is left…..and they’ll often say afterwards, “that was a lot of fun!”
When you approach a table, don't hand a card to each person, it will take way too long. If there are 5 people at the table, get 5 cards ready and hand them to one person at the table. They can distribute the cards to their friends.
Once the games start it is important to occasionally walk around and interact with the players. Bring your list and your pen box with you. Some people may have missed a song or two and need your help, or they might need a new pen....etc.
6:00 p.m.
Host Says: "We are about to start our first game of Rock N Roll Bingo, if you haven't got a card yet and you would like to play along, let me know"
6:02 p.m. Start game
When someone yells bingo, ask them to come to the stage. Do a quick review of their card. I usually don't spend more than a few seconds. Rarely, do people try to trick us.
Important: The only time we get false bingos is when we are looking for 3 or 4 lines and the player wasn't paying attention and hollers bingo when they only have 1 or 2 lines. When someone brings a bingo up to the stage, ask them, "so you have 3 lines?" This is when they realize they made a mistake.
After you get your first two line winner.
"We have our first winner(s) of the evening. We will now continue the game, this time we are looking for 3 lines any direction, that's three lines any direction. It is important to remind people frequently throughout the game as to how many lines you are currently looking for."
Repeat scenario for 3 and 4 line winners.
6:30 p.m.
Game should be over
Host says: That finishes up game number one of Rock N Roll Bingo, but we have more games to play. We'll take a short break and hand out cards for game number two. We'll be starting the next game in approximately 15 minutes.
Play background music.Hand out cards for game number 2.
6:45 p.m.
"We are about to start our next game of Rock N Roll Bingo, if you haven't got a card yet and you would like to play along, let me know"
6:47 p.m.
Start game
7:20
Game Should Be over
Hand out cards
7:35 Start Last Game
8 p.m.: Your done!
Host Says:
Thank you very much for coming out tonight, just a reminder that we do this every week. So we hope to see you again next "Tuesday". Until then, have fun, stay safe and most importantly " ROCK ON"!!!
Notes & Tips
Playing Audio File:
For playing the Rock N Bingo game we suggest that you use windows media player.
Here are two intro's you can play before you start a game. It's not 100% necessary to play these, but they are here if you choose to. Give them a listen.
Birthdays: There is usually one birthday gathering happening during bingo nights. Find out who is having the birthday and play this song for them, it's 25 seconds long.
Sweet Caroline:
At least one time per evening, play Sweet Caroline and encourage the audience to belt out the song.
We do a little trickery and act like it's part of the game. Please make sure to look at your host list before playing this. Some games have Sweet Caroline as part of the game.
Music Between Games:
This is an online station we created that plays non-stop music. Be aware that the volume is set to 100%, you may want to slide it down to 50% before you click play. 30 minutes before you start the games, switch your system on the Ipad over to "the stage" on the I-Pad. Test your audio levels in the main room and the patio.
We keep the station playing all night long. When we're ready to start a game, we slide the volume all the way to 0. Between games we slide it back to 50%.

Late comers.
You are going to have people walk in when you are part way thru a game. If you are 10 songs or less into the game, give me them a card. If it's more than 10 songs, tell them the game is nearly over and you will be around to their table to give them a card for the next game.
Get the late comers caught up. A couple of ways to do this.
Go over to the table and you read to them from your host list what songs have already been played. But, if you have 2 or 3 tables that are latecomers, this is very time consuming and not always possible.
Another option is to have them take a picture of your host list with their smartphone and they can catch up themselves. This is not an advantage to them for winning, their songs still have to play in order for them to win.
Customers Can Only Win Once Per Card
We do this because we don't want the same person winning multiple times with the same card, we want lots of winners. There is the occassional winner that is unhappy they can't win again. I just telll them they get to "bask in their glory" of winning already. They can win again with a new card when we start a new game.
Marketing: Social Media
Each week take a few pictures of the lucky winners to put on social media to promote Match Rock N Roll Bingo.
Where To Download The Games:
https://classicrockbingo.homestead.com/Games-Library.html PASSWORD is required
Please don't wait till the day of your event to download the games, this is the internet and glitches happen. You may not be able to download the games. We suggest that you have at least 10 games printed out and ready to go at all times.
Play games in order: Try to play games close together: ie: Game 118-119-120. These games will not have the same songs in them. But, if you were to play Game 118, 150 and 173. You might find that some of the songs repeat.
The Games:
Each game has 3 files.
Host List: A one page pdf file that tells you what songs are being played and what order.
The Cards: A PDF file that will contain 60 pages, 2 cards per page. Print them out and cut them in half.
Go thru our entire library, you will notice that there are many games with themes. Also, we have games specifically produced for special occassions such as Halloween, Christmas, Valentines Day etc.
Printing The Cards:
Each game has approximately 60 pages, 2 cards per page. Ensure that your printer is set to black ink only and double check it is not going to print on both sides of the paper.
Print out all the cards, the cards are numbered so you will be able to keep your unused cards for another evening.
For example, you have 70 people play on a night. You will have used pages 1-35. Keep pages 36-60 and when you play that same game again a few months later, simply print out pages 1-35 once again. You never want to be put in the position of not having enough cards.
The Rock N Bingo Game: This is an MP3 file that contains the complete audio for the game. Please listen to the first minute of each game prior to game night.
Note***On games 100-140 the recording tells people how to play the game. For games after 140 we just go right into the game without the introductions
Prizes:
At the Match locations we give a prize to every winner. There are 3 winners per game, first person to get two lines, then three lines and the final winner will need 4 lines
Note***: You will have multiple winners.
You may get 2-3 people that get two lines at the same time, so it's important that you have enough prizes for every winnter. For a complete game we will usually hand out 6 prizes.
Prizes:
We have a combination of Match certificates ranging from $10-$25. We also have gambling vouchers Ranging from $10-$25. For the Match certificates, the winner is told that they can use it on their next visit to Match. They can't use it for the meal they just ordered. Make sure to give them at least a month on the expiry date.
Rock N Roll Bingo/Classic Rock Bingo.
Some of our games are announced as Classic Rock Bingo. Some locations liked Classic Rock Bingo whiles other preferred Rock N Roll Bingo. We use both names, for marketing purposes we use Rock N Roll Bingo
